Best Practices for Image File Resizing
If you are using Microsoft XP, the procedure below can be used to create smaller copies of your pictures, which can then be uploaded to the Document Catalog, using “Image Resizer”. Resizing images maximizes document catalog space, and lowers your storage costs.  Your original picture file is not altered in any way during the process.
Using the Image Resizer
Select images to resize. Right-click the picture you want to resize, and click "Resize Pictures".
In the Resize Pictures dialog box, choose a size for the image file, and click OK.
The original file remains intact; and a new, resized file, is added to the same folder.
The “resizing process” is always conducted on the user’s local PC & is done before the file is uploaded to the document catalog.
Remember that the “Resizer” is only for images that can be evaluated in a smaller size.

Best Practices for Scanning Documents

Scan necessary documents only.
Always keep hard copies.
Scanning and Using lower disk space.
Text documents are smaller in file size than images.
